New Homes

The proposals include around 3,500 new high-quality, sustainable and energy-efficient homes in a range of dwellings and types, including affordable rent to meet local need.

In summary the new homes will:

  • Provide much needed new homes across the site, engaging with Council to deliver quality affordable living.
  • Provide private and shared external amenity spaces.
  • Be designed to the highest of standards, maximising dual aspect homes that have good orientation, with well-considered internal layouts.
  • Include the provision of child play space.

Sustainable living; now and in the future

A site-wide sustainability strategy has been developed to ensure the development achieves a high level of environmental and social sustainability performance.

This includes the new homes which will be energy and water efficient with an aspiration to perform better than Building Regulation requirements.

  • Cycle and pedestrian prioritised streets that promote sustainable methods of transport and a safe neighbourhood.
  • A legible network of paths that connect through the wider site area to develop a spirited and unified community.
  • Working closely with Kent County Council on sustainable travel improvements, and exploring incentives such as flexible ticketing and car club membership for all site residents.
  • We will be developing highly sustainable and energy efficient buildings and obtaining BREEAM and LEED certification.
